Joseph R. Moore, also known as JR, age 64, departed this life on January 6, 2024. He was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Ida B. Moore and Lloyd L. Moore, Sr. To this union were born eight children, Joseph being the sixth. They were raised in South and East Akron.
Joseph graduated from Buchtel High School and later joined the military. He also worked various jobs, last working for Malco in Barberton, Ohio until his health prevented him from doing so.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd L. Moore, Jr.; sister, Debra Moore; mother, Ida B. Moore; and father, Lloyd L. Moore, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories daughter, Jaylynn Moore-McNeil (Kye); son, Majestic Moore of Spring, Texas; stepsons, Ellis Ray, DeShawn (Natalie), Markie Ray of Wooster, Ohio; step children, Carla Charity, and Niko Wrinch; sisters, Carolyn Cole, Sherry Moore, Patricia (Andre) Bulluck of Atlanta, Georgia and Sheila Moore; brother, Minister Michael (Jenise) Moore of Columbus, Ohio; aunts, Jackie Daniels of Ravenna, Ohio and Edna Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; nieces, Lacresa (Tony) Ivery, Brandie Moore, Shakeena Gurley and Rayshawn Cash of Phoenix, Arizona; special nephews, Arthur Cole, Nathaniel (Michalene) Walker and Lamar (Jamelia) Moore of Atlanta Georgia; great neices, Iramaysia (Dallas) Gissendaner, TaRaysia (Cory), RaLya Sibley, Tatuana Moore of Columbus, Ohio, Tania Walker of Atlanta, Georgia, Mia Moore of Atlanta, Georgia; great nephews, Lanard Moore, Latrele (Montasia) Moore, Daviar Blackwell of Columbus, Ohio, Dennis Fain of Cleveland, Ohio, Theo Moore of Columbus, Ohio, Tramyne Lucas, Jr., Lamar Moore, Jr., Jamal Moore of Atlanta, GA; special friends, Marshall Clark, Marcus Sims, Danny Sims, Nelson Smith, Tony (Cindy) Anderson, Van Thomas, and Nino Thomas; cousins, great-great nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
