Joseph Gerard's Obituary

Joseph E. Gerard, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born and raised in Ohio, Joseph married the love of his life, Mona Gerard, on December 24, 1955, in Akron, Ohio. Together, they built a beautiful life before settling in Florida, where he lived for the past 45 years. He had a successful career spanning both the insurance and automotive industries.

Joseph was a man of many passions. He had a deep love for woodworking, flying, and race car driving—pursuits that reflected his adventurous spirit and skilled craftsmanship. He was also an active member of his church and a dedicated member of local organizations that brought him joy and fellowship. He was also an active member with Scottish Rite, Shrine Temple Bahia, Mokanna Lodge #329, and Pine Castle Lodge #368.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mona Gerard; his father, Frank Gerard; his mother, Cora Collins; and his siblings Larry Gerard, Butch Gerard (Gwen), and Rosemary Germano.

Joseph is survived by his loving children: Joe Gerard Jr., John Gerard (Vickie), Jim Gerard, Jerry Gerard, Kim Frye (Steve), and Susie Gerard. He also leaves behind his cherished 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. His legacy of love, kindness, and determination will live on through his family and all who knew him.

Joseph will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his adventurous spirit, and the lasting impact he had on those around him.
