On May 20, 2013, Joseph Alexander Brice, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family.
Born September 25, 1942, in Norton, VA, to the late Alfred Joseph and Virginia C. Brice. Joe, as he was called, lived in Akron for more than sixty years, attending Akron Public Schools before serving in the US Army.
He was employed by Ford Motor Company, The University of Akron, and finished his career as a Laborers' Local Union No. 894.
Joe was also known as, "The Fence Man", and hanging fence, meeting and talking with people was his passion. But more than anything, he loved-his family and was our champion for Family Unity! We will all miss his loving heart, his funny stories, and his inspirational reminder that "We all need to love one another!"
Joe and his wife, Annabelle, loved children and fostered more than 67 children over the years.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving and caring wife of over 25 years, Annabelle Brice. Sisters, Anita (Virgil) Brown, and Janice Gindraw of Akron; brothers, Phillip (Audrey) White, of Akron, James (Stacy) White, of Massillon. Daughters, Renee Nurse, Rachel Brice, and Anggela Brice Andrea Williams, Sharnice Williams, all of Akron; sons, Rodney (Melissa) Brice of Denton, TX; Antonio Brice, of Sacramento, CA, Michael Washington, and Lacey Williams. He also leaves 14 grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren. Aunts, Nora Brice, Gladys Brice, and Havana Rollins; plus, a host of nieces, nephews, dear relatives and lifelong friends.
A special acknowledgment to his favorite aunt, Ernestine Miller, of Milwaukee, WI, with whom he could laugh and talk with for days.
We will miss our Daddy, Uncle and Brother Joe!
