Johnny Ray Travis was born April 6, 1954, to the late Argustavia (Gus) and Lue James (Big) Travis in Akron Ohio.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age. He attended Akron Public Schools and worked many years in customer service at various Lounges in the City of Akron.
Johnny Ray loved to dance and entertain. He was the life of the party wherever he went. He loved being around his family and friends and never met a stranger. He was a member of the Pride of Rubber Town Elks Lodge No. 1594. He unexpectedly departed this life October 24, 2023.
Johnny Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Lue James and Argustavia Travis, Willie James Travis, Betty Jean Harris, David Travis, Isabella Travis, Dorothy Travis and Geraldine Travis.
He leaves many loved ones to cherish his memory: daughters, Royal Anne Travis and De'Asia Evanna Travis; son, Tre'Sean Blair; grandson, Javon Knaff, granddaughters, Amina Nicole Lamon and Kaniya Trice; siblings, Gloria Beasley, Linda J. Saunders (Marvon), Ernest Travis (Reenea), Yvonne Travis, Cynthia Travis, James Boyer (Jasmine), and Barbara Watts. A host of many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts uncles and friends. He also leaves the love of his life Octavia Blair, and best friend Michael Moore, Lamard Richardson and Raybon Shannon.
