Johnnie Mae Bivins (nee Harris) "Mickey", gained her heavenly wings on January 11, 2019 at the blessed age of 91. She was the 2nd oldest child born to the late John and Clara Belle Harris. Johnnie Mae was a talented musician and played for several area churches in Akron and also the Harris Gospel Singers. She was a member of Second Baptist Church until her health declined and an honorary member of Love Koinonia Church of Lorain, OH under leadership of her son, Apostle Terrance Bivins. She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Homer Sr.; sons, Brion and Ronald; grandchildren, Roland and Alisa; great-grandchildren, Alijah, Elajah, Eniyah and Amiyah Bivins; siblings, Dorothy Robinson, Vera Hearns and Audrey Heard. To cherish her beloved memory she leaves daughters, Gloria and Claudette Bivins and Claudia Pugh of Akron; sons, Homer Jr. and Duane of Akron and Apostle Terrance (Sheila) Bivins of Lorain, OH; sisters, Claudia Caldwell of Akron and Roslyn Thompson-Hill of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Ronald Harris of Akron; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren and a host of cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
Condolences may be sent and procession will form at 1302 East Ave., Akron, Ohio 44307.
