John W. West, 67 passed away on December 17, 2017 at Akron City Hospital. He was born on July 31, 1950 to his parents, Roosevelt Patterson and Lessie B. Stallings. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Patterson and Lessie B. Stallings; step-father, Booker T. Stallings; brothers, James R. West, William Wright, Rufus R. West; sisters, Ethel Mosley and Betty J. Davis; nieces, Marnetta Wheeler, Selena Walker and Angela Davis; nephews, Alan and Jerry Stallings, Michael and Omar Singleton. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon West; grandson, Syvaugh Finsley; granddaughter, Syvannorae Finsley; four step daughters, Cassandra, Tangier, Gloria and Lisa Wharton; sisters, Barbara (Eddie) Skipper, Patricia (Willie) Smith, Joyce Carter, Annette Stallings, Annie M. Stallings and Mary P. Stallings, all of Akron, Ohio; 2 grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Rhoden Memorial Home 1101 Palmetto Ave., Akron,m Ohio 44306. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service.
