John Shannon Stevenson, Sr. was born November 25, 1973 to Joyce Stevenson Russell and John W. Russell in Canton, Ohio.  He departed this life on September 12, 2016.  John graduated from Perry High School in 1992 with honors in track, wrestling and football.  He attended North Coast Medical Academy, specializing in massage therapy.  John was baptized in Jesus' name at Greater Bethel Apostolic Church. Preceded in death by his father John W. Russell, Sr.; maternal grandparents, William and Eliza Stevenson; paternal grandfather, Joe Russell and father-in-law, Tom Haidet.  He leaves to mourn his wife, Laura Stevenson; (2) sons, John Stevenson, Jr. and Michael McCrae; grandson, Jeremiah McCrae; mother, Joyce M. Russell; grandmother, Willie Mae Russell; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Christopher (Dr. Amanda) Stevenson; (2) cousins, Dr. Angela Matthews and Crystal Pirolozzi, who he considered as sisters; special aunt, Yvonne Grant, who he considered as a second "mom''; special uncle, Tony Stevenson; (2) nieces, Elizabeth and Evangeline Stevenson; (1) nephew, Ethan Stevenson;   special friend, Terry Holland, who he considered as a brother; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins as well as a host of relatives and friends.
