John Carlos Mills (Carl) was born on January 18, 1962 to Alma Jean Mills and the late John Brook.  Carl attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from John R. Buchtel High School.  He then obtained a bachelor's degree from The University of Akron.  Carl was employed by Akron City Hospital with The Housekeeping Department for several years, most recently he was employed with The City of Akron Street Department.

Carl loved food and enjoyed cooking it!  He was passionate about barbequing and was sure to do so every holiday for his mother, children and grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

He is prEceded in death by his father; John Brooks, sisters; Sharon Brooks and Maxine Mills, grandparents; Ervin and Florine Feaster and grandmother; Macy Brooks.

Left to cherish his memory, mother; Alma Jean Mills, children; Tavares Bushner, Dontea Bushner, Brandon Murkins, Robert (Lisa) Bartee, Carlisa Smart, Angel (Chandler) Bartee-Boyd, Jont'e (Nichole) Bartee, Alexis (Chris) Bartee-Lewis and Katelyn Latson, Kendra Reese and Ronald Bartee, 18 grandchildren,3 great-grandchildren, sisters; Barbara Robinson, Deborah Bostick and Marilyn Jenkins, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends; special nephew Anthony Robinson.

Carl will be sadly missed by family and friends.
