John McKinnie II "Pump"

John McKinnie, age 67, was born on September 21, 1958, and peacefully departed this life on August 1, 2026. 

John was a proud graduate of Barberton High School, Clas of 1977, where he was a member of the Barberton High School football team, track and field team, and wrestling team. His years as a student and athlete helped shape the strong, determined man he would become. John was a faithful member of Mt. Haven Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee. His faith and dedication to his church were an important part of his life. He served not only as a member, but as someone willing to give his time, strength, and heart to the church and those around him. John believed in hard work and taking pride in providing for his family. He was employed by Wonder Bread for 30 years and later worked for Barberton Tree Service for 5 years. Throughout his working years, John was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment. 

John was the beloved son of John V. McKinnie and Ceola E. McKinnie. 

John leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Sherrie McKinnie; his brother, Marcus McKinnie; his sister, Tiffany McAdory; his sisters-in-law, Shelia (Rainer) Evans, Kathy (Shawn) Thorpe, and Kadshia (Stan) Moore; and his brother-in-law, Charles Moore. He leaves behind his beloved children, Jon (Deja) Jeffries, LaKeisha (Ronnie) Dukes, Jeffrey (Mandi) McKinnie, Amber (Royal) Evans, and Tasha Terrell. He also leaves his special nephews, Antonio Pittman and Cisco Moore, along with grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. 

John will be remembered for his strength, hard work, faith, loyalty, and love for his family. he was a man who gave of himself to those he loved and left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. 

Though our hearts are heavy with passing, we find comfort in knowing that John's life was one of purpose, love, faith, and service. His memory will continue through his wife, children, family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. 

John may be gone from our sight, but he will never be gone from our hearts.
