John Henry Lott Sr., affectionately known as Bobo, Pops, and PawPaw, was born on October 19, 1945, in Grenada, Mississippi, to Helen Kelly and Mose Crowder.
John was a hardworking man who took pride in staying busy and making the most of each day.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his bike, attending church, and spending time with family and friends. His faith was an important part of his life, and he especially enjoyed serving as a dedicated church usher. He also took pride in looking his best and keeping his cars in good condition. Above all, John loved God, cherished his family, and never passed up an opportunity to dance. His lively spirit, warm personality, and love for those around him made him a special part of so many lives.
Throughout his life's journey, John made his way from Mississippi to Chicago and eventually settled in Akron, Ohio. Along the way, he built meaningful relationships, formed lasting friendships, and created memories that would be treasured for years to come.
Family was always an important part of John's life. He shared a special bond with his thirteen siblings: Elizabeth Kelly, Josephine Josie Kelly, Eloise Kelly, Alex Kelly, Recy Kelly, Drew Kelly, Mary Kelly, Juanita Smith, Alvin Kelly, Albert Kelly, Frank Seeden, Ethal May Lott, and Augusta Murphy.
John was blessed with a loving family, including his beloved wife, Emma Jean Carr Lott, and his children, Rachel Lott (Gary) Hill and John Jott Jr. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love extended far beyond his immediate family. He also cherished his many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, who lovingly knew him as everybody's favorite uncle. He lovingly remembers his son, Michael Booker, who preceded him in death.
John's legacy continues through his eight grandchildren: RaKeshia Lott (Andray) Pennington, Martinezes (Mikhala) Lott, Trenell (De-Vanshai) Waters, Ni'Janae, Javen, Willow, Justyce, and Jenesis.
He was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren: Alana, Aaliyah, Andray Jr. (AJ), Malani, Italeigh, Aliviah, Izyiah, Martinezes Jr. (MJ), Ivori, and Ivy.
In addition to his immediate family, John leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family
members, and dear friends who will continue to hold his memory close to their hearts.
It you knew John, you knew he was full of life. He loved to laugh, dance, spend time with the people he loved, and, most importantly, he loved God. His presence brought joy to family gatherings, and his laughter, stories, and unforgettable personality left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough
John's life was a reflection of hard work, faith, family, and love. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy will live on through the generations of family he leaves behind and the countless lives he touched along the way.
Though our hearts grieve his absence, we rejoice in knowing that John has received his eternal reward. His life was a blessing, his love was a gift, and the memories he created will forever be treasured by all who knew him. His laughter, his spirit, his faith, and the love he shared will live on through the generations he leaves behind. Though he may no longer walk beside us, he will forever remain in our hearts.
