John was loved by all who met and knew him. John had a smile that curled the toes of his wife, Allita and charmed his mother-in-law, who he called his girlfriend, Angeline and father-in-law, Owen Hatchett. Shawnette, his daughter, always said her Dad was a very stern man and would express exactly how he felt and would be done talking about it. He always let me know that I was to do what I wanted; I was to live my life and not listen to what others had to say! He loved making his yards and car look pretty
John attended the Greater Bethel Apostolic Church.
