John T. Allison Jr. passed away September 23rd 2013 after a courageous battle with a long term illness. He was born in Canton Ohio on June 10th 1947 to John T Allison Sr. and Olivia L.V. Allison. John lived most of his adult life in Canton before moving to Gulfport Mississippi. He recently returned to the Akron/Canton area due to his illness.
John believed that Jesus Christ alone is the way of eternal life and served as a member of Greater Bethel Apostolic Church in Canton, Ohio before moving to Gulfport Mississippi. John graduated from Canton McKinley High School and was employed at J&L Steel Inc. and Camelot Music. After retirement John worked independently as a car detailer and carpet cleaner. He took pride in his work and in making every customer happy. John never met a good store bargain he didn't like and would make it his mission to pass on any good deal to family, friends or whoever else would listen. John was fond of wearing nice suits especially with a stylish hat. But most of all John loved his family and cared about other people even after he became ill. He will be deeply missed by the many in whom lives he touched.
John T. Allison Jr. is preceded in death by his father, John T Allison Sr. mother Olivia L.V. Allison, and brother John Davison. He leaves to cherish his memory sons, Thomas Allison of Canton Ohio, Gregory Allison of Atlanta Georgia, daughters Lesley (Hakim) Lewis of Columbus Ohio and Tynesse Allison of Akron Ohio, sister Olivia (Maurice) Donahoo of Canton Ohio, brothers William (Eva) Allison of Akron Ohio, Gary (Peggy) Allison of Columbus Ohio, Bruce (Ravene) Allison and Gregory (Sharon) Allison of Canton Ohio, sister-in-law Betty Jo Davison of Akron Ohio, special cousin Gloria (Cookie) Bivins of Akron Ohio, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
