Jimmie Lee Thompson Jr. better known as "Slim", passed away Monday April 27, 2015. Jimmie was born on August 1, 1946 in Huntsville, Alabama to Jimmie Thompson Sr. and Mary Agnes Strong. He was employed at Timken Steele Company for 35 years. In his free time he enjoyed going to the casino and shopping at flea markets. Playing cards was also one of his favorite pastimes. He loved and supported his Pittsburgh Steelers through thick and thin. Jimmie was always willing to help friends and family in need. He never knew a stranger and to know him is to love him. He will deeply be missed by all who loved and knew him. Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents Jimmie Thompson Sr. and Mary Agnes Strong, sister, Joanne Thompson Toney Johnson and his brother Benny L. Thompson Strong. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife of 34 years Charlene Thompson; children, Mellany McLeod, Conray (Tenisha) Henley, Jimmie Thompson III, Kristian Thompson and Ivory Thompson, as well as his sister Mary Blankenship, 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
