There is no misunderstanding, when GOD calls us he is certain and we all must answer his call. We often picture death as ending; let us all however view this as a new beginning. On September 13, 2013 Jimmie L. Smith a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, received his call.
Jimmie L. Smith was born on February 3, 1937 in Forest Home, Alabama to the late Conrad Smith and Cassie Robinson. After nearly 31 years of employment he retired from the Daimler Chrysler Corporation. He was preceded in death by parents, Conrad and Cassie, his beloved and faithful wife Jean and special nephew Rodney Haynes.
Left to cherish his memories, his devoted children, Dannie Scullock-Smith of Montgomery AL, Gregory (Michelle) Smith, Jerome Smith, Darlene (Clarence) Gray, Cheryl Jackson, Cassandra Smith, Brandon McKenzie all of Akron, OH and DaNan (John) Carter of Richmond, VA., Sisters, Jean Jenkins of Akron, OH, Sadie (Nathaniel) Mahand of Greenville, AL and Dorothy Mahan of Forest Home, AL. Brothers, Charlie Smith and Clemon Smith of Montgomery, AL, Conrad (Fannie) Smith of Greenville, AL and William (Barbara) Smith of Georgiana, AL. Thirty-one grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, special uncle Freddie Jordan, best friend Doug Edmondson, and dedicated friend Joanne Simmons. There is also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors that will cherish his memories.
