Mrs. Jessie Lee (Barnett) Mitchell, went home to be with our heavenly Father Sunday, December 22, 2019.  at the magnificent age of 95.

She was born in Quimby, Louisiana, November 12, 1924 to the late Prince and Leola Barnett. Jessie attended Southern University and majored in education.  She was a teacher in various school districts and tutored within the Canton City School System.

She was a devout member at Southeast Church of Christ for over 70 years of which she taught Sunday school.  Jessie loved working in her beautiful garden and spending time with her family.  She was known as grandma "Mema" to many.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Raymond Mitchell Sr.; son, James "Ricky" Mitchell; (2) infant daughters;  brother, Buddy; daughter-in-law, Shonda.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her children Raymond Jr., Kevin Mitchell both of Canton, Pamela (Richard) McPheters of Reynoldsburg, Keith Mitchell of Orlando, Rayelene Hood of Cleveland; grandson, Shane Mitchell; special son,  William LeGrant of Canton as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, friends, and church family.
