Je'Mion Lavell
Parmer
January 10, 1988 – August 12, 2021
Jemion LaVell Parmer was born in Akron, Ohio in January 10, 1988. He was the second son of Camille Parmer and little brother of Tavares. Born into a loving and close family, Jay, as he was called, was a loving, big hearted and kind soul whose smile was not only contagious but illuminating. With it he could change the atmosphere of any room he entered. He attended the Akron Public School System until the family relocated to Elon College, North Carolina.
Jay was raised in the church and was baptized at Akron Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor P.C. Chavis. After the family's relocating to Atlanta, Georgia he attended Shekinah Ministries under the leadership of Elder Wallace Parmer.
Jay graduated from Clayton High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts. Upon discharge from the military, he moved to Houston for a while before relocating to Haverstraw, New York. He then decided ti move to Columbus, Ohio to be closer to family. Family was very important to Jay. It appeared his mission was to care for others, comfort others, attend to others and love others. You were always greeted with a huge smile and a warm hug. he was always asking how you were doing, if he could be of assistance, if anything was needed, his concern was real, and you felt it. He never ended a call, conversation or visit without saying "I love you".
Jay was very creative, always drawing, doodling, and making beats. He loved reading and listening to music, afterward writing down his thoughts and putting them to a beat. He had a beautiful voice and sang in the group "Ascension Gospel Music Group" with his sister and brother. Although he marched to his own "drum", he was very much connected to family.
On August 12th at 11:14 P.M. after a fierce battle with illness, Jay made his transition to be with his Savior.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobby Bell and Ernest and Georgia Watson; his aunts robin Wilkerson and Coela Watson.
Remembering his in love is his mother, Camille Johnson; father, Marvin (Tamica) Watson; honorary father, Kenneth (Sherry) Johnson of High Pointe, North Carolina; brothers, Tavares Parmer of Columbus, Ohio, John Watson, Allen (Juanita) Watson, and Ernest Watson of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Bernie, Marmika Watson and Trinity Bell of Akron, Ohio; grandmother, Qwinita Bell of Columbus, Ohio and honorary grandmother, Josephine Johnson of Akron, Ohio; grandfathers Leroy Parmer of Akron, Ohio; aunts, Chinille (John) Bell of Akron, Ohio, Tracy Bell of Columbus, Ohio, Anita Stephens and Stormie Weddle of Akron, Ohio, Sharmin Parmer of Massillon, Ohio and La'Queena
