Jeffery L.
Brown
September 30, 1961 – October 4, 2024
Jeffery L. Brown (Smiley) was born on September 30, 1961, as the middle child of Rebecca Brown-Finney and Walter Boone, Jr. He entered eternal rest on October 4, 2024.
Jeff never met a stranger and was loving, good, and kind to all whom he encountered.
He was a skilled painter who took great pride in his work. He was also a very clean and meticulously neat person who was organized and attentive to details that most were oblivious to.
Above all, he loved his family. "Family is everything… if you don't have family, you don't have anything," he was observed saying.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Boone, Jr.; his mother, Rebecca M. Brown Finney; his sister, Vickie Brown (Marvin) Frederick; his special aunt, Mary (Dallas) Blackmon; his special uncle, Isaiah Boone, and nephew Anthony Travis.
He leaves to cherish his memory and mourn his passing his sister, Joyce Carter(Danny); his brothers, Anthony (Sandy) Finney and Tyrone Finney; his nieces, Shawanda (Dion) Prude, LaShanna Wright, Kayla Ervin, Antoinette Winfield, Jessica (Chuck) Lacy, and Tiffany Sorgel; and his nephews, Rev. Jaland (Rachele) Finney, Justin (Jasmine) Carter, Antoine Winfield, Tyrone Hatcher, Jr., and Tyler Tanner. He is also survived by twenty seven great-nieces and nephews; his special cousin, Rev. Ron Blackmon; special friends Sherry Dixon, Louise Halsell, Bernice Love, Leah Love and his homeboy Spoke as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
