Jannean Raye Martin returned to her heavenly home on June 12, 2016 after an extended illness.  Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God and the love, prayers and support of her family and friends carried her through.  Jannean was blessed with a large and loving family.  She was born to the union of Clara (Settles) and the late Horace Martin on September 19, 1957.  Jannean attended Canton City Schools, graduating from Canton McKinley High School in 1976.  She was employed by Stark Metropolitan Housing Authority for 22 years.  Jannean was a member of Peoples Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board.  She was also a member of Sisters of Soul Line Dancing.  Jannean's happiest times were when she was laughing and reminiscing with friends and family.  Preceded in death by her father and aunt Carmen Settles.  She leaves to cherish her memories; siblings, Stanley Martin, Douglas Martin of Canton, Ohio and Kelly Martin of Fredericksburg, Virginia; daughter, Shanna Martin (Mohammed Crawl-Bey); sons, Matthew Jones and Kadeem Martin all of Canton; granddaughter, Lyric Fields; niece, Kimberly Martin; nephew, Tayon Martin of Canton, Ohio; special friends, Sheilah Floyd, Yolanda Hatley, Stephanie Wilcox, Carol Young; special cousins,  Kovetta Sanders, Rochelle Prince, Tammi Ramos, Kimberly Brown and Regina Ransom, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
