March 31, 1930 – December 21, 2023
James Alvin Vaughn affectionally known as "Al", entered
into rest on December 21, 2023.
He was born to the late Jessie and Lillian Vaughn on
March 31, 1930, in Barberton Ohio.
He was inducted into the United States Army in 1951,
serving 2 years in the PRC Infantry, 2nd Army area.
He fought in the Korean War. He married and fathered
six children with his first wife, Dorothy H Horton. He
worked as a machinist until he retired.
He was a talented resourceful person who could fix just
about anything. If he couldn't fix it it could not be fixed.
Even in his 90's he was still fixing lawn mowers and
lawn tools. If it had a motor bring it to Al.
If you didn't want to pay shop prices Al could always fix
it for less.
Many friends and family loved him. Al loved
football and was a Cleveland Browns diehard fan. He
enjoyed Western movies and shows. Al liked to play
the lottery. Al also worked in the neighborhood store for
years for livelihood even though he was retired.
James was preceded in death by his parents Jesse &
Lillian Vaughn, sisters, Jessie Lee Cheatham, Nannie
Bell Ingol, Marjorie Butler, Zular Mae Burton; brothers,
Cloyd Vaughn, & Herman Vaughn Sr., and daughter,
Victoria Ann Vaughn
He leaves to cherish his memory, brother Raymond
Vaughn, children, Dorothy Alvina Vaughn, James Alvin
(Frankie) Vaughn Jr., Rena Denise Vaughn, Billy Louis
Vaughn, and Rickey Lynn Vaughn. Grandchildren
Jamall Vaughn, Christina Vaughn, Lenny Vaughn, Ryan
Vaughn, Laneir Vaughn, Vanessa Vaughn, Stephen
(Misty) Beasley Sr, Ava' Beasley, John Thomas,
Darnell Simpson, & Thyme Whatley., 16 great-grandchildren
and 9 great-great-grandchildren, and host
of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
