James Townsend was born to the late Charlie and Rosa B. in Union Springs, Alabama.

James attended the Cleveland Public School System.

James met and married Julia Mae. To this union was born Michael, Mitchell, and Joyce.

James was employed by several companies throughout the city of  Cleveland and the Massillon area.

He later retired from Ekco Products in Canton.

James enjoyed music, old cars, and entertainment. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. James was a soft spoken, fun loving, caring, and kindhearted person.

James Townsend departed this life on November 14, 2020. To know him was to love him, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Townsend; sister, Mae F. Townsend; son, Michael.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted sisters, Mary, Paulette, and Paula; daughter, Joyce; sons, Mitchell and Pierre; (mother of Pierre), Agnes; as well as Martin, and a host of other relatives and friends.
