James Murray Edwards, 78, went home to be with the Lord after a long illness.  Born in Macon, MS, moved to Kent, OH. in 1938 but resided in Akron OH most of his life.  He was a member of Spellman AME Chapel, a veteran serving more than ten years in Naval Air, had been employed at General Motors for more than 20 years, was a member of the American Legion, VFW, NRA and UAW. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Essie and Richard Edwards, brothers Holley and Joe, sons Duane Edwards and June Foster.  He is survived by his  wife of 52 years, Shirley; daughters, Linda (David) Campbell, Angela (Norman) Davis, Antoinette Edwards and Starr Beamon; sons, Tommy Cammon; special son John (Cathy) Thomas; sister Jennie (Dave) Lowe; brother, Richard (Alice) Edwards; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
