James F. Mitchell Jr.,  affectionately known to his family and friends as Butch.  He was born on July 21, 1957 in Canton OH and departed this August 26, 2025. Surrounded by his family. Butch was born to Reverend James F. Sr, and Rosie Gertrude (Hayes) Mitchell He attended Canton City Schools, and after leaving he began working for the Railroad Company. Butch  worked various jobs before retiring from Gregory Galvanizing Steel Company. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, and he loved to sing. His voice was melodious. At an early age he along with his brothers sung in a gospel quartet called he Cantonairs led by the late Earnie Grace.  He could still harmonize with PeeWee during his sickness, while riding to and from appointments. Butch was a member of Jehovah Witness East Canton Congregation under Earl A. Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Riccarldo Echols, a nephew TJ Taylor And Glenn Mitchell Sr. and a close cousin Jean (Tanzie) Eutsey.

He leaves to cherish his memory, brother Clyde (PeeWee) Mitchell,  Sister Cleopatra (Thomas) Taylor, one Sister-N-Love Awanya Mitchell,  two Special Cousins/Sisters Diane Sumpter and Vivian (Jack) Mayle. Special Nieces who counted it a blessing to become his caregivers Takenya Hampton, Nasjah Lambert (Konfidence T.). Cipriann Echols, and Selena Jones. His Nephews Terrance lonzell Pounds, CJ Mitchell Glenn Mitchell Jr, Sheldon Mitchell, Kevin Glaspie, Anthony Mitchell, Richard Bradley and Travis Cole, two God daughters Cherelle Blair and Kyra (Kareem) Maine, life long friends Stan Green, Leroy Tavares and The Entire Cole Family.

Butch also leaves behind a huge host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends whom he loved dearly. You will be missed butch and never forgotten.
