James Mack Jr departed this life on August 3, 2024, at the age of 86. He touched the lives of many who had the privilege of knowing him. Born in Montgomery, Alabama on August 29, 1937, to James and Mable Hunt-Mack Jr. James faced life's challenges with grace and a smile, leaving an indelible mark on all who crossed his path. James was passionate about his love for the Lord. James joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany, Upon returning to Akron, Ohio he married Jackie Smart. James was a historian that expressed his enthusiasm for various activities including storytelling, music, abstract art, fine wine and nature. He worked at Goodyear Rubber Company and retired in 1996. James is preceded in death by parents James and Mable Hunt-Mack Jr, wife Jackie Smart Mack, daughter Rochelle Mack and siblings Georgia Mae Mack, Mamie (Dave) Wooldridge, Pete (Theresa) Mack, and Roosevelt Mack. James is survived by his son, James Victor Mack, devoted grandson Sir Aaron Mack (Sam), grandaughter Cynitha Mack, He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and neighbors who will forever hold him close to their hearts. His laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love will be deeply missed as he leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories.
