James "Pot" Jackson was born on April 30, 1942 to Robert Gray and Amie Jackson in Selma Alabama. James was a dedicated Butcher at Difeo and Sons, Case Farms as well as a laborer at Ferguson Trucking Company in Akron, Ohio. Once James retired, he would still go help out at the car shop to do whatever he could to keep busy. James was a family man like no other. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. James enjoyed playing a good game of Dominoes or tickling the kids. James was a dedicated Deacon at Zion Temple Baptist Church where he enjoyed being every Sunday until he became ill.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Gray and Amie Jackson; grandsons, Lafayette Martin ll and Edward Turner; brother, Adolph Jackson; and sister, Lillie Jackson.
James leaves to cherish his loving memory, wife, Aretha Jackson; children, Marguerite Jackson, Barbara Turner, Felton (Penny) Shropshire, Mildred Shropshire, and Willie (Shawn) Shropshire; siblings, Robert Jackson, Edward (Eddie) Jackson, Thomas (Tommy) Jackson, Frank (Mary) Jackson, Linda Bevins of Alabama, Rosie Lee Stoudemire and Bernice (James) Baldwin-Morgan; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
