Obituary

James Anthony Brown was called home to God's eternal rest on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.

James was born on December 4, 1964, in Canton, OH to the late Johnny Butler Brown, Sr. and Esther Mae (Pulliam) Brown.  He was the youngest of two children the eldest, Johnny Jr. preceded him in death in 2006.

James as a child was baby sat by his Aunt Eva (Esther's twin), he was over our house a lot, as a matter of face instead of being double cousins, we considered him our brother.  Most times when he went home his parents would bring him right back over because he put up such a fuss.  James, whom we called "Boo Boo", had great times with us.  If you ever talked to him about his childhood he would tell you about sitting in the window waiting for his cousin, Lonnie Jr., to get come from school, he called him "Superman", his hero.  He would tell you about the baths that the eldest, LaVerne, had to give him.  All the intense kickball games we had on the corner of 4th and Crestmont with Orlando, his brothers and Sherman and his brothers.  All of the cherries him and Jr. would eat out of Johnny's tree.  As time went on the weed pulling and vegetable picking and then the hay days, riding the dirt bike and shooting the critters on his Uncle Lonnie's farm.  As he got older the hey days of the McKinley Bulldogs, which the whole family were fanatics about and his friends Parker and Broyles.  As time went on his relationship with Yvette (Vet) and her children, Brittany and David, whom he considered his children and when the grandbabies came along he would brag about how smart they were.

He worked as an aide and then a driver for ABCD, cutting grass at times and he enjoyed training and working out with kids.  After his father and brother passed, he was there for his mother and when she fell ill, he took care of her the best he could.  He found hope and strength in his new friend, Julia Ann.  He found enjoyment in their travels and adventures and he had a new hunger for God through her encouragement.  The Christ Centered Ministries of Hope, COGIC He loved!!! If you really knew James you knew he enjoyed fishing, beer, pork rinds, spending time with his family and when he was irritated he would threaten you with the knife in his pocket.

He was the last of his family.  He leaves to mourn Aunts, Uncles, cousins, Yvette, Brittany, David and their children, special friend Julia, Renee and a host of family and friends.
