James Jay Brophy, Jr.'s Obituary

James Jay Brophy Jr. (Puff the Captain)

Jay was born on November 5,1983, to the parents of Belinda Sibley and Jay Brophy Sr. in Akron, Ohio.  He attended school at St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, then to Walsh University and graduated from Ashford University with a M.A. in Business Management and a M.A. in Organizational Management.  Jay relocated to Riverview, Florida where he gained employment with the federal government. Affectionately known as Puff, he enjoyed spending time with his children. He always found enjoyment in talking to his family and friends, sailing on his boat, an occasional good cigar with a good spiritual heart.  Puff loved to travel. He loved sports and he had an organization called Thanks4Giving game. Puff could often be found on the water; he really enjoyed sailing on his boat and was a self-proclaimed Captain. His favorite movie was The Goonies from the age of 5 until now. He got his nickname because he was so chunky and handsome. He always had a gallon of milk in hand. Although he was extremely stylish and a sharp dresser, he preferred to be in loungewear, his family joked and often referred to him as being some sort of naked. Puff had an infectious laugh and would make jokes about everything. He had a heart of gold. He found his love for Christ Jesus at an early age and served Him wholeheartedly until his departure from this earth. He's either Flying High or Sailing them Seas!!

Preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Joy Janay Brophy; grandparents, Ethel and Howard Charles Sibley, Richard and Barbara Brophy; aunt, Stephanie Sibley; uncle, Michael Sibley; aunt, Carol Brophy.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his beloved children, Aniyah Hartwell, Jaylen Brophy, and Jazden Brophy; mother Belinda Sibley; father and stepmother, Jay (Tara) Brophy; sisters, Sh'Ron Sibley, Ja'Cara Cox, Kennedy Brophy; brothers, Raymond Sibley, Michael Sibley, Damon Sibley, Ahmad Spaulding, Tory Spaulding, and Jackson Brophy, as well as his loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, beloved cousins, and special friends.
