James "Jay" Edward Blakeney 34 of Boston passed away on 12/28/2023 in Boston at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center. Jay was born in Massillon Ohio to Tara Hall and James Blakeney,  Sr. on July 14, 1989. He went to CANTON South high school where he played percussion in the band and was on the basketball. He graduated from Bunker Hill community college and was also attending Johnson and Wales where he was on the Dean's List and to graduate on May 2, 2024. He worked as a chef for Everybody Got To Eat and was also an independent chef. Jay was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving for 4 years of active duty, and 3 years of reserves. he was a veteran of OEF/OIF and was awarded The Navy good contact metal, national defense service medal, global war on terrorism service metal, global war on terrorism expert dictionary metal, and sea service deployment ribbon. JAMES is proceeded in death by his maternal grandfather Walter Hall Junior, and grandparents, Buster, and Irene BLAKENEY. James is survived by, his fiancé Rachelle Rollins(BLAKENEY) His three year old son, Julian James Blakeney and JaydaLynn Jolene BLAKENEY due February 4 ,and two stepdaughters, Amara and aria. He is survived by his mother Tara Hall, sister Clyriesha Gardner, Niece Sarah Gardner, brother Caleb Blakeney, grandmothers Dominga Hall and Rosemary Klema, cousin Antonio (Jen )Hall, aunt Venus Ahmed,  uncle Walter Joyce hall III, cousins Brittni (Ja Hintz)Sara (Alex Easterly)and Genna(NickPotts)Special uncle Steve Gardner, and cousin SteveJr. Aunts and uncles Yvonne, Shawn, Kim and Jared Davis, Chancelor Wyatt, Shelly Wyatt Booker,special friends Kelvin Lindsey and Jonathan White. Lots of great aunts, uncles and cousins.We want to think Dr. Michael Yung and nurse Marie for the special care that they gave Jay at the West Roxbury VA hospital.
