Our Heavenly Father has again reminded us of the uncertainty of life by calling from us our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Jacqueline Carter Ray was born on June 19,1947 in Akron, Ohio to Joann Carter and James Blair. Jacqueline was best known to loved ones as "Jackie". Jackie accepted Christ at an early age at Morning Star Baptist Church. In her adulthood she joined Mt. Sinai United Holiness Church.

Jackie attended East High School and after graduation she worked at Middlebury Manor nursing facility for several years until she was hired at Amco Chemical. Jackie was a dedicated employee until the plant closed and moved to Texas. In 1963 Jackie met Willie Ray Sr. and they united in matrimony in 1966.  During their marriage they were blessed with two children Ella and Willie Jr.

Jackie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. She was a strong fighter and never let cancer stop her. Jackie stood strong and never stopped fighting until her last breath.

Jackie is preceded in death by her father James Blair, and her mom and dad Henry and Joann Davis, baby sister Monica Davis-Bell, and ex-husband Willie Louis Ray Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughter Ella Ray (Reginal) Thornton Sr. of Indianapolis Indiana, son Willie Louis Jr. (Chrissy) Ray of North Royalton, Ohio, grandchildren Kayla (Javar) Jones, grandsons Willie Louis Ray III, Reginald Thornton Jr of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jasmine Ray of North Carolina, and great grandson Willie Louis Ray IIII of Indianapolis. Sisters Mary Jean (William) Bolton Jr., Vonda Richardson, Marcia Merchant, Denise Wright, Regina Gainer, and Allison Campbell. Brother Orlando Street. Best friend Beverly Herrington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
