Ivory C. Smith, Jr., "Smitty" was born on May 23, 1926 to Ivory and Zella Smith in Louisville, KY. His family moved to Canton, Ohio in 1928. Ivory married Iphagenia (Amilee) Williams on January 19, 1955. He was a World War II Veteran in the United States Army. He also worked at Chrysler for 15 years as a mechanic. Ivory accepted Christ as his personal Savior in 1984 and became a member of Deliverance Christian Ministries. Ivory loved to watch the Cleveland Browns and dominate on the card table. Ivory was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Gregory Williams and Peter Smith; sisters, Lillie Norean Mosely and Ernestine Gordon; brother, Ernest Smith. Ivory leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Iphagenia of 58 years, whom he affectionately called "Suga"; sons, Larry (Theresa) Williams, Ricardo Smith, Ivory C. Smith, III, Daryl Smith; daughters, Darlene Hawkins and Elena (Jerald) Long; brothers, Robert (Lillie) Smith and Herman (Carol) Smith; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
