Ira "Danny" Holt, affectionately known to many as "Danny" was born on April 8, 1949, to Thelma and Nyle Holt in Akron, Ohio. He was called home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Danny was an honorable man who loved his family, a good game of baseball and a home cooked seafood boil. He was a decorated veteran who served his country for 35 plus years and was awarded multiple prestigious medals including the National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal and The Army Commendation Medal. Danny was an active member of the Al-Kaf Shrine, The American Legion John Fulton Post on Summit St in Akron, Ohio. He is fondly remembered by his family and fellow members for his protective and giving spirit, his love of jazz and old school R&B music. For always staying ready for any situation that may come his way. He will be deeply missed and cherished by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother Thelma Holt and father Nyle Holt, brother, Darwin Holt. Danny leaves to remember his love, daughter Monique (Tony) Richards, stepson Cedric Richards all of Akron, Ohio. Sisters, Marie Holt of Akron, brother, Wilbur McReynolds of Maryland, grandkids, Jaden ,De'Shawn, Taylor, Tyler, Tyra. Best friends, James Bell, "Chipper", and Stephanie Bell, God kids, Phillip, Dionna, Crystal Bell, and Katika Favor, mother of children Cheryl Richards along with a host of nieces, nephew's other relatives and friends
