Harry L. Gaiter, Jr.'s Obituary

Harry L. Gaiter Jr. affectionately known as "Junebug" and "Junior" was born on February 18, 1980 to Harry L. Gaiter Sr. and Bonnie Edwards in Fairbanks, Alaska. He departed this life far too soon, leaving behind countless memories of laughter & love.

A proud student of Firestone High School. Harry was a standout athlete, dedicating himself to both football and track. His drive on the field mirrored his passion in life. Harry was a hard worker performing various jobs around Akron. He was a lifelong member of Shelton's Temple COGIC.

Above all else, Harry was a devoted father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He loved his family, especially his daughters Mikayla Gaiter and Honestee Gaiter, who were the pride and joy of his life. Junior was blessed to see his daughter Mikayla, become the first Gaiter to receive a bachelor's degree, an honor that brought him to tears. His love for them knew no bounds and his memory will forever live in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved grandmother Hattie Gaiter, sister Nekisha Adams, uncles Leon Gaiter and Jethron Walker Sr., cousins Johnny Gaiter and Jethron "Book" Walker Jr.

Harry is also survived by his siblings Aleste Gaiter and Debbie Gaiter of Akron: brothers Antwan (Erica) Adams of Salem, OR. Marcus Adams and Nick (Brittany) Adams of Lacey, WA.:stepfather, Ernest Adams of Lacey, WA.

He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who brought him endless pride: Devante Gaiter, Jonah Morris, Janea Tolbert, Lashawna Gaiter, Anthony Gaiter, Amari Woods, Antwain Davis, Amaya Davis, Liberty Brown, LyAnna Mundo, Amir Young, DaJuan Owens Jr. all of Akron and Kyleigh, Hayleigh, and Kinsleigh Adams of Lacey,WA. He also leaves behind great-nieces and nephews, Kayante, Sayori Gaiter, Dezmond "DJ" Wilridge Jr. all of Akron.

Harry was loved dearly by his aunts Rita Irvine and Golina Gaiter of Akron and uncle Roderick Gaiter of Trenton, NJ. He shared close bonds with his first cousins Emerald Strong, Tawana (Larry) Joseph, E. Nachelle Lewis, and Hattrice Gaiter as well as close lifelong friends DaJuan Owens, Antwain Davis, and Josh Lucas—his brothers in every sense of the word. To know Junior was to love him. Junior made an indelible impact on the lives of so many. He leaves to cherish his memories a host of relatives and friends far too many to name.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Summa Akron City Hospital ICU.

Though Harry's physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. We will carry his love, his laughter, and his legacy forward—forever.
