Harold D.
Taylor, Sr.
November 1, 1946 – August 12, 2023
Harold David Taylor arrived in this world on November 1, 1946, in Akron, Ohio as a beloved son of Moses and Ruby Taylor, who proceeded him in death. He, along with his five brothers: James, Clarence, Sterling, Robert, Larry and four sisters: Carolyn, Dorothy, Mary Ann, and Janice shared the union of a loving family. Harold departed this life on August 12, 2023, after a short illness, in Virginia Beach, VA, where he was currently living.
Harold attended the Public Schools in Akron, OH. He graduated from South High School in 1964. During high school, he participated in track and field relays. He was employed by Daimler Chrysler for 38 years and retired in 2002. He spent his retirement travelling different places, such as to the Bahamas, Hawaii, Seattle and many other locations. He also was spiritually uplifted when he attended many of the local and National Lectureships of the Church of Christ.
Harold accepted his Lord and Savior and was baptized at the North Hill Church of Christ, in Akron, OH, under the ministry of Minister Wash McCall. He was an active member of the congregation, until relocating, from Akron to Texas, where he still was a faithful member of the Lord's church. Until Harold's departure, he attended The Inner-City Church of Christ in Chesapeake, Virginia under the leadership of Minister Sean Bracy.
Harold loved to feed and care for animals. He loved to feed animals so much, he fed a mother cat, and the mother left her 10 kittens, so he took on the responsibility of caring for them, until he said, "Lucretia, They Got to Go!" Harold also enjoyed watching the events of track and field, football and many other sports.
To cherish his memories, he is survived by his wife, of 21 years, Lucretia M. Taylor; Brother: Robert Taylor; Sister: Carolyn (John) Wilcher; Children: Crystal (Brent) Ollison, Deanie (Billy) Williams, Harold "David" Taylor, Jr., Terrence Moore; Grandchildren: Shaniqua Parks, Natasha Clark, Jeffery Clark, Donte Taylor, Shatera Taylor, Jasmine Taylor, Makyla Moore, Terrence Moore, Jr.; and 19 great-grandchildren and a host of other friends and relatives.
