Gwendolyn L. Hobdy, born November 1, 1960, in Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her sisters at her side on January 18, 2023, at University Hospital Lakeside.  With Gods love, strength, grace and mercy, she courageously battled against cancer for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Douglas Hobdy Sr. Freddie L. Person, Margaret R. Hobdy-Person, grandparents, Dolger (Annie R.) Hobdy, Serene Wheeler, nephew, Leonta Hobdy, nieces, Octavia L. Hobdy-Booker, Cynthia Pope and Beauti Thomas.

She leaves to mourn her memory her children (nieces & nephews), they were her true joy that she helped raise and loved them dearly as they were her own, sisters, Sandra Milliron, Gaile Hobdy, Gloria Hale, Cynthia Harmon, Sarah Neil Ferguson, Shelia Johnson, Betty Moulytr, brothers, Douglas Hobdy Jr. (Shephanie), Eddie Bowen (Paulette), favorite aunt, Diane Wheeler, best friends, Shirley  Drummond, Gloria Hudson and Kenny Smith as well as a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
