Gregory Smoot passed away on August 14, 2018. He was born on October 23, 1952 in Akron, Ohio after a courageous battle with cancer. Gregory passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones. Gregory graduated from Buchtel High School in 1972. Gregory was employed by the City Of Akron for a short term. Gregory was helpful to family and friends. No job was to big for him to handle. Gregory over came a lot of obstacles in his life with the help of God. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Catherine Smoot Sr.; grandmother, Lulu Henderson; nephew. Robert Wharton Jr.; special cousin, Willie Smoot. Gregory leaves to cherish his loving memory sisters, Gloria Dozier and Kathy (Charles ) Richardson; brothers, Larry (Daneen) Smoot, Charles Smoot (Renetta Otis) and David Smoot; uncle, Jacob (Teddy) Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews other loving relatives and friends.  Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 418 Grand Ave., Akron, Ohio 44302.
