Gregory Ball was born on May 18, 1962, to Marian Ball-Ripley and Robert Scott in Barberton, Ohio. His earthly departure was on October 23, 2024.
Gregory spent his early childhood and teen years right in the heart of Barberton, Ohio. Gregory was born and raised into the church of the Galilee Baptist Church in Barberton. Gregory graduated from Barberton High School. After High School Gregory enlisted into the Army and served 4 years as a Marksman. He returned back to his hometown and later resided in west Akron with his family.
Gregory's smile and personality was one of a kind. He loved to laugh and joke, and he loved music dearly. He also loved cars and always kept nice ones and if you knew Gregory he had one particular car, the "Stanka Lincoln." His favorite color was green, and he loved food, a nice sandwich would do him just fine.
Gregory loved to be outdoors doing yard work or detailing a car. He worked as a detailer at the Clean & Motion car wash. He accepted God and talked of his beliefs frequently, spreading his life lessons into messages. If you knew Gregory you knew he loved to talk, but just know, he was hanging up on you!
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Margie Ball; grandfather, Charles Ball, Sr.; grandparents, Fred and Ellen Scott; uncles, Ted Scott and Hope Cheatham; and niece, Angel Askew.
He is survived by his mother, Marian Ripley; father, Robert Scott; fiancé, Jane Knight; son, Darren Dowdell (Jennifer); daughters, Bianca, BreAnna (Alan), Brittany and Margia Ball; grandchildren, Qua'Schauna, Dakota, Darionna Danea ,Denvir, Damira, Damare, Aleigha, Alan jr., Aiden, Cerenity, Carter and Malani; Great Grandchildren, Tanyla and Jehkai; sisters, Annette (Kipper) and Robin (Curtis); brothers, Marcellus, James, Cuban, Antione Askew "Tiny" and Robert Scott, Jr. "Pooh"; special aunt, Mabel Cheatham; aunts, Ernestine, Dee-Dee and Lelia (David); uncles, Troy, Charles Jr., Fred, Kenny and Carter; special friends, Marilyn Dowdell, Lamont and Anthony; ex-wife and friend, Lorri Ball; special cousin, Amanda McKennie; and a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
