Grant Pressley Sr., was called to be with Lord on Thursday, January 18, 2018. He was born on September 5, 1925 in Boston, Georgia to Melvin and Elizabeth Bryant Pressley. He was number 8 of 10 children. Through the strong spiritual background of his family, he found Christ at an early age, and later attended Union Baptist Church.  Pressley Sr. graduated from Bethune Cookman University where he studied automobile mechanics.He served as Seaman First Class in the United States Naval Service, serving in Hawaii. After exiting the Navy, Grant worked in a variety of positions, before retiring from Republic Steel after 32 years. On August 5, 1958, Grant married the love of his life, Hattie Josephine Murray and to their union one child was born Grant Pressley, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, his parents, Georgia and Melvin, sisters Ella, Viola Martha and Rosalee; five brothers, Waitus, Melvin, Vinson, Willie James Stephen, grandson Corey Pressley,  and special nephew,; Leroy Whitfield.

He leaves to mourn his son, Grant (DeLores) Pressley, Jr. of Canton, OH, grandchildren; Keith Pressley and Kevin Pressley, both of Canton, OH, 2 great grandchildren; Adriana Pressley of Tuscon, AZ and Kela Pressley of Canton, OH and 1 great great grandson; Kai Pressley.

Grant also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and special nephew, Stephen Pressley, Jr.
