Minister Golina Clyde Cagle Jackson (mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother) took her last breath on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. She went peacefully to her heavenly reward after a long illness.
Mother Jackson was born on March 30, 1925, to Harrison and Bessie Cagle in Carthage, North Carolina. She was the youngest of five children. She attended and graduated from Pinkney High School.
She moved to Akron around the age of 19 and she worked for American Hard Rubber. She was united in marriage to Irwin P. Jackson in 1950 and from that union they had 5 children. They were married for 39 years.
Mother Jackson gave her life to Christ at the age of 26 under the leadership of Bishop Oscar Hill. She worked diligently and faithfully in many capacities throughout the church, such as, church bus driver, worked in the kitchen, Church mother, prepared communion and baptism, sang in the senior choir, she assisted with hurricane Hugo, presided over women's day, district Missionary, she did a mission trip to Haiti, she was also a prayer warrior and love to travel with her family. Her current pastor at the time of her passing is Bishop Dr. Langford Floyd.
Golina Jackson is a graduate of the First Born Church Seminary and training school in Waycross, GA. Where she received her bachelor's degree in theology.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband Irwin, P. Jackson; son, Norm Stanley Jackson; (3) sisters, Lozie Cagle, Chattie Mae Haywood, and Melba Cole; niece, Bessie Kent; brother-in-law, Robert T. Jackson, (2) sisters-in-law, Ruby Parker and Abbie Head.
In her passing she leaves mourn her children, John H. (Debra) Jackson; Lozzie Lisa Duncan, Nancy (Waymon) Garrett, Sandra Jackson; grandchildren, Nichole (Bill) White, Amy Ford, Jesse Keith, Dennis (Brandi) Keith, Aaron Jackson, Bianca (Quintearrious) Cook, Megen Jackson, Austin Jackson, Jonathan Jackson, Gail Wortham, Jay Turner; (17) great-grandchildren, (4) great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jewel Betsy Jones; cousin, Bishop Vester Morrison; nephew and niece she helped raise, Peggy Holmes, Alexander (Evaughn) Cagle, Catherine Sherman; goddaughter, and godsons, Gloria Jackson, Anita Watkins, Charles B. Howard, Otis Riley (deceased), Leonard Law (deceased), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and church family; special longtime friends, Donna June Hill and Dorothy Law.
