"A Life Beautifully Lived"
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Grandmother, who departed this life on March 21, 2026, at the age of 76. She was born on March 10, 1950, in Rome, Georgia, and later moved to Akron, Ohio at the young age of 10, where she built a life rooted in family, faith, resilience, and grace.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Eddie Lewis Sr. and Jewel Mitchell Lewis; her son, Eddie Lewis Jr. (Poe); her grandson, Darshawn Carr; and her nephew, Eddie Lewis III (Fella).
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her sister Patricia Poole (Uncle Duke), devoted children: Tracey Burke-Guess (Peaches), Seneada Burke (Pudney), and Tommie Poole. Her life continues to shine through her 9 grandchildren, including one grandson-in-law, and 7 cherished great-grandchildren and a host of nieces nephews and friends who will carry her spirit forward. Special Friends; Cindy Harmon & Liliani Williams.
A woman of remarkable strength, she was a true fighter—courageously battling cancer on and off for 11 years and triumphing over breast cancer twice. She embodied resilience, determination, and unwavering faith throughout her journey.
She was a faithful member of Kingdom Restoration Church, where her beautiful voice and love for singing touched many hearts. Her presence brought warmth, joy, and inspiration to all who knew her.
Professionally, she dedicated over 30 years of service to State Farm and more than 9 years to Sterling's. Even after retirement, her work ethic remained unmatched, as she continued to stay active and engaged. She was truly a hardworking woman who never stopped striving.
Known for her elegance and style, she carried herself with unmatched class. She was one of the most stylish and graceful women—always put together, always radiant. But beyond her beauty was a heart even greater—loving, giving, and deeply devoted to her family.
She was more than a grandmother—she was a best friend, a protector, a provider, and a source of unconditional love. Her presence was a gift, her laughter unforgettable, and her love everlasting.
Though she is no longer with us physically, her legacy will live on in every life she touched. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
