"Gladys' Life Story

Gladys was born November 10, 1927 in Vernon Hill Virginia to Jack Jones and Mary Jones. She went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2017. She was baptized at New Vernon Baptist Church in Vernon Hill, Virginia. Gladys was united in holy matrimony to Herman Davis in 1945. To this union were born five children, Mary Collier, Harry, Samuel, Larry and

Douglas Davis. She was a loving, caring, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Gladys was blessed with the special gift of cooking. She delighted in baking and baked special items for others. She farmed with her husband and loved growing beautiful flowers. When her health began to change she relocated to Canton, Ohio to live with her daughter Mary. Her love for the Lord was evident. She continued to attended church at St. Paul AME Church.She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Mary (Robert)Collier, Canton, Ohio,  Harry Davis, of Hollis, New York, Samuel Davis Sr. (Sheila), of Queens Village, New York, Larry Davis of San Diego, California, Douglas Davis, of Vernon Hill, Virginia, and foster son Willie Hooper of Vernon Hill, Virginia as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
