Geraldine "Babydean" Watson Gillespie, age 85, transitioned from this earthly life on July 22, 2024. She was born on July 20 th , 1939 in Opelika, Alabama to the late Turner and Wazie B. (Adkins) Watson. Babydean, believed in working hard and playing harder. She was employed for 19 years at Danner's Press (a book binding company), then Canton City School System, specifically Allen School, until retirement. She loved helping friends and "kin folks" to do whatever; she enjoyed volunteering with the Angel Network, Nurses Guild, working at the polls during elections and the Red Hatters. She loved laughing and dancing...... She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Vear Gillespie; maternal grandparents, Lewis and Prince Ella Adkins; paternal grandparents Thomas and Georgia Watson; sisters Hattie Mae Torrance and Katherine "Tiny" Gadsden: Nephew Ronald H. Jackson Jr., great-nephews Paris D. Wicks II, and Quintin Pride She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter Katrina Watson Washington (Ray) of McDonough, GA, her grandson Danique E.W. McMillan of San Francisco, CA, her granddaughter Javonni A. Stevenson of McDonough, GA; sisters, Lula Bell Smith, Dorothy Jackson, Staisha Helen (Charles) Thompson, Sylvia Watson, all of Canton, OH; brother, Dr. Rudy J. (Aremita) Watson of Silver Spring, MD, R(v)D cousins Princella Ginwright and W. Wayne Watson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
