Obituary

Gerald Reed was born August 7, 1945, in Greenville, MS to the late Sallie Roland and Walter Reed.  Gerald moved to Akron, Ohio at a young age and graduated from South High School where he was a star on the track team.  After high school he took on amateur boxing where he earned the name "Rooster" which led to him being inducted into the Summit County Boxing Hall of Fame.  He loved to be called "Rooster" and would have the biggest smile on his face whenever you called him that.  Although he had no children of his own, he loved all his nieces and nephews as they were his own.  "Rooster" retired from Chrysler after 38 years of service.  He spent his last days with his brother Andre laughing and sharing memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Eileen Morrow and Parthenia Woodard.  He leaves to cherish his memory, brothers, Walter Reed, Andre Reed and Austin Rolland all of Akron, Ohio and a host of other family members and friends.
