Georgia M. Wood, born January 8, 1920 in Troy, Alabama to the late Fred Herndon, Sr. and Mattie (Still) Herndon. To this union nine children were born, six girls and three boys.Georgia was united in holy matrimony to Fletcher Wood. From this union a daughter was adopted Lois Wood. Georgia was a faithful member of the Shiloh Baptist Missionary Church for many years. She was a Woman's Bible class teacher, a mother on the Mothers Board and Missionary Society and a foster-mother to 9 children. In addition to her parents Georgia is preceded in death by her husband Fletcher Wood, five sisters and three brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Lois Wood-Dunn; granddaughter, Carmesa Wood; (3) nieces, Lucy Liggens, Gertha Dafney and Mattie James, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; foster sons and daughters, Loretta Parks, Teresa Moore, Eugene (Ingrid) Doss, Beverlee Doss, Kenneth Doss, Jacqueline (Ralph) Seymour, Amanda Brown, John McCarthy, William (Essie) Freeman. Donation are appreciated in lieu of flowers and can be sent to Lois Dunn c/o Rhoden Memorial Home, 729 Cherry Ave. N.E., Canton, Ohio 44702
