Georgia Merryweather, 72, passed away on February 26, 2018. She was baptized at a young age at St. Thomas Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. T.H. Bell; later joining Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Roy W. Gary. She was former First Lady of Good Hope Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for 33 years alongside her husband.Preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Lavorn Merryweather. She is survived by her children, Patricia, Lavorn Jr., Frances Merryweather and Valerie Hood; grandsons:  Leland, Lamar, Bryan Allen and Carlos; twelve great-grandchildren;adopted son, Tony Taylor; two sisters, Albertha Walker and Rowena Coker; great-aunt, Bernice (Dewitt) Herring;sister/friend, Ruth Smith; and host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
