On October 17, 2016, our Lord and Savior called home one of his faithful servants. Geneva Patricia Mabry (Patti, G. Patti), 79, was born October 13th, 1937, in Akron, OH, to the union of the late Joseph and Nina Gillespie. Patti was a lifelong resident of Akron, OH, attending Robinson Elementary School, Goodyear Junior High School, and East High School. She graduated from Livingstone College in 1960, and began teaching for Akron Public Schools in 1961, for a span of 34 years, teaching at Crosby, Guinther, Hatton, and lastly Schumacher. Mrs. Mabry loved teaching and her students. Patti was a faithful, lifelong member of Wesley Temple AME Zion Church, where she served on Parent Body Missionary, Lay Council, Children's Board, Steward Board, and a longtime member of the Gospel Choir. Patti was also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, where she truly enjoyed assisting with Little Miss Fashionetta . Also; she was an avid CLEVELAND CAVALIERS fan and a member of the Lebron James Grandmother's Club. Patti was actively involved with all until her illness slowed her down. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Theodis Mabry, son, Patrick Theodis Mabry, daughter, Shelby Ellen Mabry, her grandchildren, Da'Mere Boddie and Madison Camille Mabry; sister, Kathryn Boykin and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
