Gary L. Oden Sr. peacefully passed away at home on February 3rd, 2024 with loved ones at his side. Gary was born on October 14, 1933 to the late Willie Moses and Iolue Oden, in Talladega Springs, Alabama. He was the last surviving of 10 siblings, Leola Stone, Eula Miles, Mary Finney, Kathleen Powe, Willie Oden, Donald Oden & Arnold Oden, John Oden, Herman Oden and Davis Oden.

Gary was employed at Goodyear Aerospace and Ford Motor Co., where he retired in October 1996, as a Automotive Tender. Gary was very well known around the Akron area and there were several occasions when he encountered people that he knew on his out of town trips. He never met a stranger. Gary enjoyed watching sports, loved gardening, going to Marc's, Dollar Tree, Big Lots and absolutely and especially Rose's on the first of the month.

He had many nicknames, his favorite being "M" and "Doc", ( which some people actually thought he was a doctor).

Gary was a member of Unity Holiness Ministries C,O.G.I.C. for over 30 years. He will be missed by the members there, who loved him dearly. They would just wait to see what Mr. Gary was going to do, and he always had everyone laughing.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Clenstine (Tina) Oden, His children; Lynn Oden, Gary Oden, Teri Oden, Bryan (Lynnette) Oden, Kevin Oden And Marcue (Tracy) McClenic, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, Sister in Laws; Ethel Oden, Cecilia Oden and Ruth Rankins, close friend of over seventy years Robert (Dorann) Green, a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
