On Thursday: July 9, 2026, our beloved Gary Allen Barton, affectionately known as "Big G." peacefully answered God's call and entered into eternal rest. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice knowing he is now in the presence of the Lord whom he faithfully trusted.

Gary was truly a mighty man of valor. He was a man of courage, vision, compassion, and unwavering faith. He believed in people when others had given up on them. opened doors for those seeking a second chance and dedicated his life to building not only homes and businesses, but also hope. families, and futures.

Gary was born on September 22, 1959. in Miami. Florida, to the late Walter Curtis Barton and Lela Pearl Barton. He spent his early years in Springfield Massachusetts, attending Homer Street Elementary School and Van Sickle High School before relocating to Canton, Ohio, where he graduated from McKinley High School.

Gary's life was marked by purpose, resilience, and service. He was a devoted father, grandfather. brother, uncle. mentor, businessman, and loyal friend whose influence reached far beyond his family: His generosity. wisdom, and larger-than-life personality left an unforgettable mark on everyone blessed to know him.

Family was at the center of Gary's heart. He cherished every opportunity to gather with loved ones, whether for holidays. birthdays, reunions, vacations, cookouts. or simple moments spent together. His home was a place where family and friends were always welcomed, laughter was abundant, and memories were made. He believed that strong family bonds were among God's greatest blessings and worked tirelessly to nurture and preserve those connections.

Gary leaves to cherish his memory Barbara Brown, with whom he shared many years and six beautiful children. Together they built a family legacy that continues through future generations. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Latcasha Brown. Marvin Brown. Vondelise Brown (Rai Nautica Brown). Bianca Corley (Sheldon Corley), Orlando Tyus, and bonus son, Joshua Hubbard.

His cherished grandchildren are Breona Wells, Martwon Brown. Brilynn Brown.

Marvin Brown J.. Bradrick Corley, Santana Corley, Sylas Corlcy, Shelmya Corley, Marvion Brown, Say'onna Corley, Saevion Brown, Sheldon Corley Ir., and Marshawn Corley. He also leaves to cherish his memory his loving brother, Walter Curtis Barton Jr. of Springfield, Massachusetts, and his cherished baby sister, Toy R.

Walker of Spring Hill, Florida, whose special bond with her brother will forever remain in her heart.

His beloved cousin-sister. Jody Millington, whose lifelong love, unwavering friendship, and family bond were a treasured part of Gary's life. Melissa Williams. a lifelong friend and love. with whom he shared many treasured years and unforgettable memories: Linda Craig, whose friendship was filled with countless loving and special moments: and Theresa Karm, a devoted and special friend. Their lives were enriched by Gary's loyalty, kindness, and enduring friendship. With a host of nieces. nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, lifelong friends. and countless individuals whose lives were touched by his kindness, generosity. guidance, and encouragement.

Gary was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Walter Curtis Barton and Lela Pcarl Barton: his brother, Woodrow W. Lipkins: his sister, Stormy Diane Lipkins: and his precious grandson. Braxton Corley.

Gary will forever be remembered as a protector. provider, mentor, encourager. and man of unwavering faith. His life was a testament to perseverance, compassion. and the power of believing in others. Though he will be deeply missed, the love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the lives he impacted will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know him.
