Freddie Evon McMeans Sr., otherwise known as "Possum" was born in Chapman, Alabama on December 6, 1948 to the late Julietta McMeans. He departed this life on January 16, 2015 at the age of 66. Freddie was a long time employee of Luntz and PSC Incorporated. He moonlighted as a security guard at the VFW Lodge for many years as well. Freddie's free-spirit and optimism made him a people's person. He was also a collector of knick-knacks and other odds and ends. Freddie is preceded in death by his mother Julietta McMeans, uncles Vorger, Julian and Leo McMeans, and brother Robert Lee McMeans. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of the home Michelle Heard McMeans; aunts Pauline McMeans; Ruthie Mae Wilson; and Gwendolyn McMeans; sister Cordelia Stamps; brother Julian Paul McMeans; daughters Ja'Niza McMeans Howard; Evonne McMeans; Kelly McMeans; Kasabia Heard and Edleesha Heard; sons Freddie Evon McMeans Jr.; and Dominick Heard; and his extended relatives the family of the late Edward Ballad Sr,; 15 grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
