Florence Jean (Allen) Henry's Obituary

Florence Jean (Allen) Henry, 84, of Canton, Ohio, transitioned to glory peacefully at the Altercare of Nobles Pond Saturday, on September 21, 2024. Florence Henry was born on June 29, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa. Affectionately known as "Sissy", she was the eldest daughter of 12 siblings. Florence was a faithful and dedicated daughter, sister, aunt, and mother. Florence loved her family and her only beloved daughter Pamela Jean Allen. Florence was employed at Molly Stark Hospital and was a Private Duty Nurse in California for many years. In her retirement years, Florence provided loving childcare services to her family and the community. Florence had an intimate relationship with the Lord, and was saved under the ministry of Pastor Lee Charles & Mother Olee Nucklos, Pentecostal Temple COGIC. Her testimony was known of how she was healed from asthma and delivered from cigarettes. Florence loved the Lord and had a powerful intercessory and prophetic ministry. Florence ministered and prayed for anyone who she came in contact with! Florence's presence and contributions as the matriarch of the family were deeply valued. Her phone was always filled with calls from the family. You could always stop by her home to talk, laugh and leave with prayer. Florence was a woman who found great joy in maintaining a comfortable home filled with delicious home cooked meals and baking from scratch. She was known for her baked beans, macaroni salad, peach cobbler, chocolate cake and icing and her mouth watering pound cake. Florence loved going to church, especially the services of Prophet Rogers DeCuir at Holy Deliverance Pentecostal Church in California. She also cherished spending time with her family, and shopping at the store and from TV! Also, she loved her vivacious dog, "Jazzy." Florence absolutely loved listening to the ministries of Rev. Ike, Rev. Jimmy Swaggert and Rev. R.W. Schambach. Florence was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Willis Allen Sr., and her mother, Blanche Mildred Allen (Williams); her sister, Earlene Allen and brother, Pastor Wilbur H. Allen Jr. Her memory is lovingly cherished by her daughter, Pamela Jean Allen and her siblings: Elder Melvin Allen (Josephine)of Canton, OH; Connie Moore of Colton, CA; Janet Barnes (Norman)of Monroe, GA; Barbara Slack of Canton, OH; Pastor Charlotte Thompson of Houston, TX; Marcia Glenn of Pheonix, AZ; Joni Dancer of Victorville, CA; Evangelist Bernetta "Lovie" Armstead (Benjamin) of Reynoldsburg, OH; and Sherrie Allen of Canton, OH.
