We are sad to announce the passing of Evon Grogan. She was born in Meridian, MS to Vincent and Ruth Armstrong. In her early twenties she migrated to Akron, OH where most of her siblings were.

Evon served for several years in the healthcare field where she cared for those who were ill and elderly. Evon retired early from that career after being plagued with her own disability. Evon had a vibrant laugh and loved music. She spent the last of her years with her daughters and grandchildren where she was surrounded by love. After running her race, she was able to rest in peace on July 28, 2023, at the age of 59 years-old in Canton, OH.

Evon is survived by her daughters Queenie Q. Grogan and Evon A. Hoyte of Canton, Ohio. Her grandchildren David L. Grogan III, Gabriella Q. Adams, Nayeli L. Grogan, Zamir J. Sommerville, and Zakari J. Grogan.

Her sisters; Eliza Jackson, Joyce Newman, Senary Armstrong, and Loretta Armstrong. Her brothers; Vincent Armstrong, Vernard Armstrong and James Armstrong & a host of special family and friends.

Evon was proceeded by her beloved brother Larry Armstrong, her mother and father Vincent & Ruth Armstrong and her only son David L. Grogan Jr.
