Sister Evelyn L. Davis, was called from this earthly life to continue her walk with the Lord on January 22, 2022, just three days short of her 90th birthday.

Sister Evelyn was educated in the Akron Public Schools and graduated from Akron South High School in 1949.  She graduated the Akron School of Practical Nursing in 1952, specializing in Surgical Nursing.  She was educated in Early Childhood Training at the University of Akron.  She also attended Emergency Training Classes at the Akron Red Cross.  Organized and directed the Easter Avenue Day Care Center for 10 years.  Evelyn wore many hats, she was a    former Sunday School Teacher, member of the Ohio District Council, formerly President of the State and Local Service League, former President of the State and Local Missionary, former President of the Women's Ministry, organized the Nurses' Guild, organized the original Family and Friend day, organized the Senior Ministry, and was active in many additional activities in and around the church and community.

Preceded in death by her husband, Jasper "Pete" Davis; son, Steven G. Davis; parents, George and Erman Vinson; brothers, Bufford Brown and Carl Vinson; sisters, Barbara Brown, Betty Meband, and Helen Lee.

Affectionately known as Granny, she leaves to cherish her memory, children, Carol (Lee) Byrd, Bruce Davis (Donna-divorced), Cathy Davis; (12) grandchildren, (21) great-grandchildren, and (19) great-great grandchildren; siblings,  Geraldine Vinson, Marilyn Vinson Robinson, and George Vinson Jr.; In-laws, Celestine Valrie, Joe (Willie Pearl) Davis, Wardell (Juanita) Davis, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
